A retired teacher from the Long Beach Unified School District, Cliff has had many Pacific Islander students in his classrooms at Poly High School, Stanford Middle School, Jefferson Middle School and Hamilton Middle School during his teaching career. Cliff assisted in supporting the NPIEN Mentoring Program at Stanford Middle School by facilitating guest speakers to meet the Pacific Islander students. Active in the California Teachers Association (CTA) , Cliff served as Chair of the CTA Asian Pacific American Caucus. As chair, he planned several educator conferences to address Pacific Islander and Asian student issues. Because of Cliff, CTA supported the NPIEN education conferences by sending its members. Cliff is the President of the Arrowbear Music Associates that support students who attend Arrowbear Music Camp in the summer, and he has been active in the organization for 30 years.
